Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? You’re not alone. Here are answers to some of the most common questions people ask before starting health coaching with me.

What exactly is the Bredesen Protocol®?

The Bredesen Protocol is a personalized, science-based approach to preventing and reversing cognitive decline, developed by Dr. Dale Bredesen. It addresses the root causes of Alzheimer’s and other cognitive issues using a blend of nutritional, and lifestyle interventions. As a certified ReCODE 2.0 Coach, I help you generate and/or understand your report and guide you through implementation at your pace.

Think of it like patching holes in a leaky roof. Instead of using one fix for every problem, the Bredesen Protocol looks at dozens of lifestyle, nutritional, hormonal, and environmental factors—and creates a plan tailored to you.

How coaching fits in.

Many people are handed their ReCODE or PreCODE report and don’t know what to do next. That’s where I come in. I’ll help you:

  • Understand your report in plain language

  • Set achievable health goals

  • Create a step-by-step action plan

  • Get support and accountability along the way

I work in collaboration with your doctor to ensure that you’re supported both medically and holistically.

Do I need to work with a doctor as well?

Yes. I am a certified health coach—not a physician—so I work in collaboration with your medical provider. If you’re following the ReCODE or PreCODE programs, you’ll need a physician to order and review your lab tests. I help interpret your reports and support you with day-to-day implementation.

🔎 Note: Hawaii residents must work with their own doctor to order labs. Washington residents can order labs directly through Apollo Health.

I’m not dealing with cognitive issues—can I still work with you?

Absolutely. The Bredesen PreCODE Protocol® is for those who do not have cognitive issues but want to prevent any issues in their future. While much of my focus is on cognitive decline prevention, I also support clients dealing with chronic inflammation, blood sugar issues, nutrient deficiencies, and more. If you want to feel clearer, stronger, and healthier through lifestyle change, I can help.

Who is the Bredesen Protocol for?

The Bredesen Protocol is for anyone who wants to:

  • Prevent Alzheimer’s or cognitive decline (PreCODE)

  • Slow or reverse early memory loss (ReCODE)

  • Support a loved one through cognitive health challenges

  • Understand how their lifestyle and lab results impact brain function

Whether you're experiencing symptoms or simply want to stay ahead of them, this protocol can provide clarity and direction.

What does the program involve?

As a ReCODE 2.0 Certified Health Coach, I help clients implement the protocol, which typically includes:

  • Nutrition and meal planning

  • Sleep and stress optimization

  • Movement and exercise guidance

  • Detoxification strategies

  • Brain stimulation exercises

  • Personalized review of your ReCODE or PreCODE report

We’ll also track key biomarkers like glucose, ketones, and oxygen saturation—and make adjustments based on your goals and progress.

What happens during the free 15-minute consultation?

This is a no-pressure call to get to know each other. You can share your goals and health background, and I’ll explain how coaching works and whether we’re a good fit. It’s also a chance to ask any questions you may have.

What’s the difference between hourly coaching and a package?

Hourly coaching offers flexible, one-time support—great for quick questions or standalone sessions. Packages offer better value and structure, especially if you’re new to the ReCODE or PreCODE process. They include a mix of 90-minute and 45-minute sessions tailored to your needs.

Can I work with you remotely?

Yes. Most of my clients work with me via Zoom or phone, though in-person sessions may be available depending on location.

Do you help care partners too?

Yes. Supporting someone with cognitive decline can be overwhelming. I work with care partners to help them understand the protocol, support their loved one, and take care of their own health along the way.

What if I already have a ReCODE or PreCODE Report?

Great! If you already have a report, we can jump right into interpreting it and planning your next steps. If not, I’ll guide you through how to get one via your physician or Apollo Health.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, coaching is not covered by insurance. Payment is due in advance by credit card, check, or digital payment. However, many clients feel the investment is well worth it for the personalized support and long-term impact on their health.
